Macquarie University is participating in the 2022 Student Experience Survey (SES) from 28 July to 28 August. The results of this survey will help Macquarie University and the government to improve the student experience.
As the usual campus-based student communications channels are limited now, we need the help of unit conveners and teaching staff to promote the 2022 SES.
What do you need to do?
Encourage your students to participate by adding one of the slides at the end of your class. Students can access the 2022 SES through their student email.
Please also emphasise that feedback from students is used to improve the quality of the student experience at Macquarie University, as shown in the Highlights from the 2021 SES and initiatives taken by Macquarie University.

What is the SES?
The SES is a national survey conducted by the Australian Government Department of Education (DoE) as part of Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT).
The SES questionnaire comprises a battery of attitudinal questions regarding teaching quality, skills development, learner engagement, learning resources and student support.
Use your OneID to log in to find a summary report from the 2019-2020 SES.
The DoE has engaged the Social Research Centre to work with institutions to administer the 2022 SES. See the SES website for more details.
How are students selected?
A random sample of 25,000 current first and final-year undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework) students were selected to participate in the survey and will receive invitations throughout August to complete the online SES questionnaire.
Will my student(s) be identified?
All responses are confidential and no personal information will be linked to students’ responses. Questions from students regarding the administration of the SES should be directed to the Social Research Centre on 03 9236 8500 or via qilt@srcentre.com.au.
